Numerical Investigation on Local Scour and Flow Field around the Bridge Pier under Protection of Perforated Baffle and Ring-Wing Plate

In this paper, a series of numerical experiments are carried out on the anti-scour device combined with perforated baffle and ring-wing plate. addition, optimal dimensions location obtained: The ratio is S = 20%, distance from center bridge pier L 2d (d diameter pier), plate located at H 1/3h (h water depth). To verify effect device, scour characteristics flow field further investigated. Compared single plate, results revealed that great performance. Moreover, maximum depth front side reduced by 84.20% 78.95%, which better than other conditions in orthogonal experiments. Due to diversion velocity near bed surface decreases 30.7%, down-flow almost eliminated vertical plane. Furthermore, turbulent kinetic energy different horizontal planes due reduction horseshoe vortex wake flow. Based investigation presented herein, promising tool for mitigating around pier.
